Wedding Kilt Hire with MacGregor MacDuff - The Kings of Kilts
The traditional Scottish wedding is something unique and admired the world over. The hallmark of a Scottish wedding is without a doubt a groom (and a good few other gents too) in a Kilt. Here at MacGregor MacDuff we would be honoured to be a part of your special day.
Your First Visit
When you first visit one of our stores you will be greeted by one of our highly trained members of staff who will guide you around our range of hire Outfits and Tartans and help you to pick out a few different styles that you think you'd be interested in. If you arent entirely sure what you would like to go for at this point the next step would be to take some initial sizes from you and arrange a time and date for you to come back in for what we like to call a 'Grooms Fitting'.
Your Grooms Fitting
The purpose of a Grooms fitting is to allow you to try on a full outfit that is your size so you can make final decisions on what you would like to go for.
A member of staff will be there with and help you to make decisions about every aspect of your outfit. Most Gents are also planning to kit out their best man, ushers and others in a similar outift to theirs. Your grooms fitting is a great chance to try out some different variations for the other gents in your party. For example a different tie colour for the best men.
Setting Up Your Wedding Party
It is now time to let us know the names of anyone in your wedding party who will be hiring with us and the outfit you would like them to wear. We will set up a booking for you on our computer system and input this data. Your Wedding Party will generally be booked under the Grooms surname unless you specify otherwise. If you ever need to contact us regarding your booking we will ask for this name as well as the pick up date for your hires (Your Hire Pick up date is almost always 2 days before your Wedding Day).
Getting Everyone Measured
Once you have named all the gents that you want on your booking, you can tell them all to visit one of our stores.
For every gent that we measure we will charge a minimum £20 deposit. You can pay this in advance when you are setting up your booking if you prefer.
It doesn't matter which of our branches they decide to visit. So if you set up your party at the Bath Street Store in Central Glasgow, it is no problem for your guests to be measured at our Prestwick or Dumbarton Road stores. We also have a new concession at Hourstons Department store in Ayr that you can visit.
Make sure the gents all know the name that the wedding party is booked under and the date of the wedding if they are coming in individually.
It is important for us that all of the gents in your party have been measured at least 6 weeks before the event. This allows us to guarantee the outfit syle that you are looking for. We understand that this can be difficult for some gents who do not live locally, in these cases we recommend they take their own measurements and inform us of these.
Settling your Bill
We always ask that you visit the store four weeks before your Wedding to settle your account and tie up any loose ends that have occurred. Four weeks is ample time to amend smaller details with your hires that you may wish to change.
Just drop into one of our stores, ask for the Manager, confirm your Wedding Party details and settle any outstanding payments. Having this settled in advance of the pick-up date allows us to identify any issues early on and also make the pick up process much easier for everyone as no money has to change hands at this time.
You can also call one of our stores and settle the bill with your credit or debit card.
Credit Card Security Policy
In order to secure our hire outfits we ask that someone leave their credit card details to 'cover' your party.
This is something we do to protect ourselves from theft. If (just as an example) someone failed to return one of our outifts within an alloted time scale we could take the value of the outfit (£500) from the credit card. However we only do this in extreme situations and we will make every effort to get in touch with the cardholder before this happens.
All that happens is we take a note of the card details, hand you the card back, store these details in our safe and then once all our outfits have been returned to us we will destroy the card details. No money will be taken from your account without you being notified beforehand.
For these purposes it has to be a CREDIT card (VISA, Mastercard etc.), debit or bank cards will not suffice.
As an alternative we can take a cash deposit of £500 (per outfit) that we will return to you as soon as you return the outfits.
The above usually takes place as you are picking up your hires, however you can drop in in advance to leave your card details/deposit if you wish. The cardholder must be the one to leave the credit card details though as a signature is required.
Pick up Dates
Your Hire Pick up date is almost always 2 days before your Wedding Day.
For example; If you are getting Married on a Saturday your outfits will be ready to pick up on the Thurday afternoon.
If you are getting Married on a Sunday your outfits will be ready to pick up on the Friday afternoon.
We STRONGLY suggest that you and the rest of your party try on all of your outfits at home after you pick them up. If you notice any problems then call the store you picked up from and let them know what is wrong. If you do this the same day as you pick up or first thing the next morning this will afford us plently of time to get the problems fixed for you in plenty of time for the big day.
Return Date
Having just had a marvellous time at the wedding it is now time to return your outfits.
As standard we ask you to return the outifts the day after the wedding before the shops close, however if you tell us in advance we will be able to arrange for you to keep them for a longer period of time. Be warned this may incur an extra charge depending on the dates / length of hire.
Our staff will check over the outfits to make sure everything is as it should be and if there are no problems then you are free to go.
Thank you for Hiring with MacGregor MacDuff - The Kings of Kilts.
