The traditional Scottish wedding is something unique and admired the world over. The hallmark of a Scottish wedding is without a doubt a groom (and a good few other gents too) in a kilt. Here at MacGregor and MacDuff we are proud to have played a part in the big day of many happy couples and we would be honoured to be a part of your special day too. Take a look at our Wedding Blog to read about some of our customers' big days.
Preparing for a wedding is a stressful time. To ensure your preparation goes as smoothly as possible, our specialist Wedding Party Co-ordinator will handle your wedding hire from start to finish, giving you extra time to plan the other aspects of your big day. You are guaranteed peace of mind when hiring kilts for your wedding from MacGregor and MacDuff.
We can cater for wedding parties large and small. All that we ask is that you give us as much notice as possible in order to avoid any disappointment or unnecessary stress. Generally, all wedding party members should be named and measured at least 12 weeks in advance of your collection date, especially during the busy spring and summer months.
Why not take advantage of our special group booking offer?
If there are 5 or more hires booked in your wedding party, the most expensive hire is completely free of charge.
Need more information in setting up your wedding party? Simply fill in the form below and a member of our team will be in touch:
1. Your First Visit
When you visit one of our stores you will be greeted by one of our highly trained members of staff who will talk you through our range of hire tartans and outfits. With many years experience, our staff will help you select different styles so you have a range of options to choose from. We will then take some sizes from you and arrange a suitable time for you to come in for a Grooms Fitting.
2. Your Grooms Fitting
At your Grooms Fitting, you have the opportunity to try on a full kilt outfit so you can get a feel for the outfit and make a final decision on exactly the look you would like to go for. Our staff will be there to advise on every aspect of the outfit to help you get it right.
The Grooms Fitting is also the ideal opportunity to look at different outfit options for your groomsmen. For example, you may choose a different colour of tie for the groomsmen.
3. Set Up Your Wedding Party
It is now time to let us know the names of everyone in your wedding party who will be hiring kilts with us and the outfits you have decided on for them. Wedding parties are generally set up using the groom’s surname so we will ask for this information along with the pick up date (normally 2 days before the wedding) if you ever need to contact us regarding the booking.
4. Getting Everyone Measured
Once the wedding party has been set up, the gents on the booking need to be measured. This can be done in any one of our stores (it doesn’t matter which store the party was set up in) or for people who cannot get into store then measurements can be submitted by contacting us. If self-measuring, we strongly advise using our measurement guide.
It is important we have these measurements at least 12 weeks before the wedding to guarantee availability of your chosen outfit styles.
5. Settling Your Bill
We ask that you settle your bill for the hires 4 weeks prior to your wedding. This can be done by visiting the store or over the phone using your credit or debit card. Having this settled in advance of the pick-up date allows us to identify any issues early on and also make the pick up process much easier.
4 weeks also gives us ample time to make any small amendments to your hires that you wish to make and to tie up any loose ends with the booking.
6. Collecting Your Kilts
Your hire collection date is almost always 2 days before your wedding day. We STRONGLY advise that all members of the wedding party try on your outfits as soon as you get home. In the unlikely event that there is a problem with your outfit please give the store you collected from a call to inform them of your issue as soon as possible. This gives us plenty of time to ensure that everything is perfect for the big day.
7. Returning The Outfits
As standard we ask that you return the outfits the day after the wedding or at the very latest by 12pm the following day.
We can arrange an extended hire if we have advanced notice of this. However, there may be an additional charge for this depending on the hire dates and length on the hire.
